Pilgrimage to Medjugorje

The Pilgrimage

Day 1: The Journey Begins

Departure for Medjugorje

Begin your pilgrimage by heading to your local airport, where you’ll check in for your overnight flight to Europe. Enjoy onboard meals and prepare your heart for the days of grace ahead.

Day 2: The High Road

Arrival in Medjugorje

Upon landing in Europe, you’ll transfer to a short connecting flight bound for either Dubrovnik or Split. After collecting your luggage and passing through arrivals, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide and/or driver. From there, relax during a scenic 2.5-hour drive to the peaceful village of Medjugorje. Settle into your accommodations and enjoy a nourishing dinner before resting for the night.

Days 3–8: The Pilgrims Path

Immersed in the Spirit of Medjugorje

Medjugorje’s charm lies in its quiet simplicity and profoundly peaceful atmosphere. Throughout your stay, you’ll have some time to explore the sacred sites on your own in between different planned events; and deepen your encounter with Our Lady and her Son.

Day 9: The Road Home

Farewell and Return Journey

After breakfast and final prayers, board your motor coach for the journey back to Dubrovnik or Split Airport. Carry home the fruits of Medjugorje, renewed in heart and soul.

What to Bring

Here’s a handy checklist to help you pack smart and travel light:

  • Wear comfy, already-broken-in walking shoes, and dress in layers—think T-shirt, sweatshirt, and jacket—appropriate for the time of year

  • Bring rain protection—a lightweight poncho with a hood or a folding umbrella, toiletries, and cozy slippers

  • Bring a backpack to easily carry essentials during your tours and any souvenirs or candles you pick up along the way

  • Don’t forget some extras, such as:

    • A small alarm clock

    • A flashlight (with spare batteries or removed batteries for travel)

    • A towel or plastic bag to sit on during outdoor stops

    • Journals or a recorder for Masses or talks

    • Sandwich bags, clips, rubber bands, safety pins, or a needle and thread for little fixes

    • A leak-proof water bottle for your hikes—you can fill it with the spring water near St. James Church and have it blessed
