  • Our Lady calls for deep personal conversion through prayer, fasting, repentance, peace, and trust in God. As taught by Slavko Barbarić, its focus is not on extraordinary signs but on living the Gospel seriously — returning to the sacraments, praying with the heart, and growing in union with Christ through Mary.

  • Its fruits include conversions, renewed confession and Eucharistic devotion, restored family peace, and increased vocations. While the Church has not confirmed the supernatural character of the apparitions, it acknowledges the presence of genuine spiritual renewal among many faithful.

You’ll climb Cross Mountain and Apparition Hill, pray at St. James Church, and take in the peace of its surroundings and culture of Croatia and Medjugorje. If the visionaries are available, you may have the chance to hear their testimonies, join their talks, or even witness an Apparition of Our Lady.

Each evening, gather with pilgrims from around the world at St. James Church for the prayer program: Confession, the Rosary, Holy Mass, and blessings for the sick and religious articles.

What to Bring

Here’s a handy checklist to help you pack smart and travel light:

  • Wear comfy, already-broken-in walking shoes, and dress in layers—think T-shirt, sweatshirt, and jacket—appropriate for the time of year

  • Bring rain protection—a lightweight poncho with a hood or a folding umbrella, toiletries, and cozy slippers

  • Bring a backpack to easily carry essentials during your tours and any souvenirs or candles you pick up along the way

  • Don’t forget some extras, such as:

    • Your mobile phone

      • Your charger (and a US to European plug adaptor

      • A flashlight and alarm clock on your phone

    • A towel or plastic bag to sit on during outdoor stops

    • Journals or a recorder for Masses or talks

    • Sandwich bags, clips, rubber bands, safety pins, or a needle and thread for little fixes

    • A leak-proof water bottle for your hikes—you can fill it with the spring water near St. James Church and have it blessed
